Unforgettable flying experiences
in the best company.
Once escape from everyday life let your soul dangle and travel back to a stress-free time. Sounds too beautiful to be possible? The small town of Gruyère (Canton Fribourg) in the Swiss foothills of the Alps is the ideal place for this. Cars and hectic pace are left outside the city gates. Behind it, a small village with a medieval flair opens up. Our goal was to spend a weekend in this picturesque environment.
From Egelsbach we took the EC120 to Bremgarten.
After a refueling break, the customs necessary for a flight to Switzerland can be regulated here. The tower in Bremgarten is very modern and comfortably furnished for pilots, so that the bureaucracy is easy to handle. The flight over Basel, the many Swiss lakes and the small detour to Lake Geneva is impressive and dreamlike. The foothills of the Alps offered a picturesque panorama and much too quickly, we reached the small airfield of Gruyère. The air traffic controller was pleased about our visit and kindly offered himself as a chauffeur after landing. Uncomplicated and fast we reached Gruyère Castle - one of the most impressive in Switzerland.
Gruyère
Place of silence
On foot, we walked over cobblestones into the place of rest. Hostellerie St. Georges was our domicile for the next time and distinguished itself through personal and friendly service. In the evening, we enjoyed the rustic Swiss cuisine in the chalet and of course a cheese fondue in an extremely cozy setting.
immersed in another world.
However, Gruyère offers much more than just a glimpse into its history. The only museum by Hans Rudolf Giger, which became famous for his film "Alien", can be found here. A lavish collection of the Oscar Prize winner's fantastic neo-surrealist art invites you to horror and immerse yourself in another world.
The world of aliens led us to the most ingenious place of the place - the Giger Bar. In the antique vaulted cellar, there is a bar in alien design. The bar stools are based on skeletons, futuristic lamps dangle from the ceiling and skull bones adorn the walls. The mirrors and lighting elements make the bar a place on an unknown planet.
Wellness
for the soul
The new morning started with an exquisite breakfast with a sensational view of the mountains. One of over 600 photos this weekend.
The return flight with a stopover in Bremgarten rounded off our stress-free time-out. In short, a whole weekend of wellness for the soul.
