BZF I, BZF II and AZF

Learn to fly with the best.

The following is a detailed description of what types of voice radio certificates are available and what you need them for. No matter which one, you can buy it from us.

BZF II

(Limited valid radiotelephony certificate for aeronautical radio service II)

The BZF II entitles to carry out radiotelephony on flights according to visual flight rules in German language and in German airspace.

BZF I

(Limited valid voice radio certificate for the aeronautical radio service I)

The BZF I entitles the holder to carry out voice radio on flights according to visual flight rules in German and English. It's mandatory for commercial pilots. You need the BZF I for flights abroad. It also facilitates communication at commercial airports. We therefore generally recommend that you purchase the BZF I.

AZF

(General radiotelephony certificate for aeronautical radio service)

The AZF authorizes the unrestricted use of radiotelephony in German and English on flights according to instrument and visual flight rules. It contains a practical part and is essential for the commercial pilot license ATPL(H) and the IR(H) certification.

To purchase the AZF, you must have a BZF I or II.

Supplementary information on BZF
