Tobias Koch becomes CAT-B1.3 examiner

Tobias Koch, technical manager from Heli Transair's aviation maintenance operation, is now a CAT-B1.3 examiner on the EC120 helicopter type.

"I am very pleased that Tobias has passed his practical examination and thus obtained his first entry on a turbine type in the licence. Tobias has been with us for a long time and it is really fun to watch him develop. He started his career as a trainee and over the years he qualified up to a technical operations manager. In March he completed his training as a private pilot and today we congratulate him on passing another exam," says Dirk Herr, Managing Partner of Heli Transair.

"With the CAT-B1.3 licence, Tobias is now authorised to issue post-maintenance release certificates, including work on the helicopter structure, gas turbine engines and mechanical and electrical systems. This gives us greater flexibility in our maintenance operations," adds maintenance operations manager Mark Johnson.

Safety and quality are priorities for Heli Transair's EASA Part-145 approved aviation maintenance organisation. That is why Heli Transair places the highest value on the continuous training and development of its staff.
