BZF II (Restricted Radio Telephony Certificate for aeronautical radio service II)
The BZF II entitles you to perform radio telephony on flights under Visual Flight Rules in German language and German airspace.
BZF I (Restricted Radio Telephony Certificate for aeronautical radio service I)
The BZF I entitles you to perform radio telephony on flights under Visual Flight Rules in the German and English languages.
It is compulsory for professional pilots and is necessary for flights abroad. In addition, it facilitates communication at commercial airports. For this reason, we generally recommend that you acquire the BZF I.
AZF (General Radio Telephony Certificate for aeronautical radio service)
The AZF entitled you to perform radio telephony in German and English on flights under IFR and VFR without any restrictions. It includes a practical part and is for the Airline Transport Licence ATPL(H) and Instrument Rating IR(H) imperative.
To acquire the AZF, you must possess either a BZF I or II.
Additional information on the BZF
The exam for the radio telephony certificates BZF II und BZF I comprises 2 parts:
60-minute Multiple-Choice-Test with 100 questions.
Each question contains a choice of 4 answers, from which only one is always correct. At least 75 percent of the questions must be answered correctly.
Simulated flight between two commercial airports.
Die BZF I examination also includes the oral translation of a technical English text into German.
